1880 J. Stevens New Model - 2nd Issue (18") 25 Stevens, Single Shot "Pocket Rifle" (Case & Stock),

Lot # 29

The two-line address "J. STEVENS & CO. CHICOPEE/ FALLS, MASS. PAT. SEPT. 6, 1864" on this New Model (2nd Issue) Pocket Rifle represents a circa 1875 -1886 production date...more - no original factory serial number records are known to exist. SPECS: Nickel plated receiver/ frame with numbers matching "8183" detachable wire stock, smooth walnut grips, 18" round barrel with octagon breech & blued finish, dovetailed adjustable rear peep sight with adjustable insert, dovetailed front globe sight with inner post & outer German silver blade, blued hammer with checkering & firing pin attached to the receiver and spur trigger with blued finish. This rifle comes in period correct wooden carry case with a leather handle strap which is marked on top of the lid - the wording is very faded and no longer legible. The case includes a period correct metal cleaning rod & ammo. CONDITION: This rifle is in very nice condition for its age with very light wear, has a beautiful sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The J. Stevens Pocket Rifle, also known as the Bicycle Rifle, was a single-shot, tip-up rifle introduced in 1869 by the J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company, a company founded by Joshua Stevens in 1864. It was designed to be compact and easily portable, hence the "Bicycle Rifle" name, as it could be carried in a case and attached to a bicycle. The rifles were popular with campers, anglers, and hunters due to their size and convenience. The Pocket Rifle was essentially the same firearm as Stevens' earlier Pocket Pistols, but featured a larger grip handle, heavier, thicker, and longer barrels ranging from 10 inches all the way up to 18 inches, and a removable wire stock. The Stevens Pocket rifle was so popular that it put Joshua Stevens company on the map as a truly legitimate firearm's manufacturer. Some rifles even came with a special carrying case. The design of the Bicycle Rifle and the Stevens Arms and Tool Co would later suffer at the hands of some ill-fated business near the start of The Great War in 1914. What essentially happened is that the New England Westinghouse Company purchased The J Stevens Arms & Tool Company and its facility in Chicopee Falls, MA, as well as all of its holdings simply to fulfill a contract for 1,800,000 Mosin-Nagant rifles (affectionately known as Garbage Rods by TFB staff). During this time, Stevens did not produce any arms for the civilian market and thus, this is where the production history of the Pocket Rifle ends. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. Stage one was during the period when Val Forgett (supplier of components) and Navy Arms built the revolvers in Colt facilities from 1971 -1973. 1981 Browning Citori (30" FULL/MOD), 12 Ga., Over/Under Shotgun, 07803PZ153

Lot # 38

According to Browning's serial number production chart, this Citori over/under shotgun was produced in 1981. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with deep cut outlined checkering...more/ fluted comb & contoured forearm, Counter Coil recoil reducer with brown rubber pad, engraved receiver with floral patterns, gold trigger, polished blued finish, 30" FULL/MOD barrels, serrated vent-rib with silver bead front sight & brass mid-bead, tang safety/ barrel selector, dual ejectors, 14.25" LOP and is chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" shells. CONDITION: This one-owner shotgun is in beautiful condition with a few very light scratches in the wood, has nice shiny/ clean bores and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Browning Citori is the progeny of the famous Belgium made Superposed. In the 1960s and 70s, the Browning company became aware that a firm in Japan, B.C. Miroku, was copying their guns and doing a rather good job of it too. These guns were being seen in increasing number in the UK. The Miroku shotguns were a well-made, slightly simplified version of the original Superposed. Browning dispatched a delegation to Japan to negotiate with Miroku. They didn't manage to get them to stop copying Brownings, instead they entered into what has since become a very long standing commercial relationship whereby the Japanese manufacturer ended up making the great majority of Browning over-and-unders. Thus, in 1973, the Browning Citori was born. It evolved from the 325 to the 425, and more recently, the 525. All these guns are based on a slightly (and cleverly) simplified, mass-production friendly version of the original Superposed design. It must be mentioned that the Citori is partly machine made, but a lot of hand work goes into it. These are not cheaply made guns. The Citori has become known for its "mechanical excellence" and deluxe grade features. It has become a must have for serious sportsmen around the world. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. 1975 Colt Combat Commander - Series '70 (4.25"), 45 ACP, Semi-Auto Pistol (W/ Box), 70BS26356

Lot # 39

According to the Colt Archives Serial Number Database, this Combat Commander 1911-style semi-automatic pistol was produced in 1975. SPECS: All-steel frame with polished b...morelued finish, 4.25" barrel, rear slide serrations, dovetailed u-notch rear sight, fixed ramp front sight, smooth walnut grips with silver Rampant Colt medallion inlays on each side, beavertail safety grip, grooved backstrap, round serrated hammer, slide stop, thumb safety, grooved trigger and comes with (2) 7-round blued steel magazines. This pistol comes in the original box with wood grain style sleeve and manual. CONDITION: This pistol is in beautiful condition with no wear to speak of, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: Shortly after the Second World War, the United States Government began sponsoring a series of tests to find a new pistol to replace the Colt M1911A1. One of the key requirements dictated at the time was that the pistol was not to exceed 7" in length or 25 ounces in weight. These tests were conducted at Aberdeen Proving Grounds as well as at Fort Benning, Georgia. The pistols submitted at this time were the S&W M39, the Colt Commander, a modified Inglis Hi Power, a FN Hi Power and the T3 trial pistol, all chambered in 9mm Parabellum. Proposed at the end of 1949, the Commander was intended to fill a military need for a lighter handgun which would be issued to officers. 1979 Browning Citori (26" MOD/IC), 20 Ga., Over/Under Shotgun, 03949RN163

Lot # 40

According to Browning's serial number production chart, this Citori over/under shotgun was produced in 1979. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with deep cut outlined checkering...more/ fluted comb & contoured forearm, black textured buttpad with embossed "BROWNING", engraved receiver with floral patterns, gold trigger, 26" FULL/ IMP MOD barrels, serrated vent-rib with silver bead front sight, tang safety/ barrel selector, dual ejectors, 14" LOP and is chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" shells. CONDITION: This one-owner shotgun was used for trap shooting for over 40 years and is showing various surface wear, has nice shiny/ clean bores and appears to be in good working order. 1959 Browning (Belgium) Superposed "Lightning" (30" F/IM), 12 Ga., O/U Shotgun, 73337

Lot # 42

According to Browning's serial number production chart, this Superposed "Lightning" over/under shotgun was produced in Belgium in 1959. SPECS: Glossed walnut stock with d...moreeep cut outlined checkering/ fluted comb & round grip knob, engraved receiver with floral patterns & gold fill, gold plated trigger/guard & forearm release, 30" FULL/IMP MOD barrels, serrated vent-rib with dual white bead sights, tang safety/ barrel selector, dual ejectors, Browning brown rubber buttpad with black/ white spacers, 14" LOP and 2 3/4" chambers. CONDITION: This one-owner shotgun was used for trap shooting for over 60 years and is showing various surface wear, has nice shiny/ clean bores and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Browning Superposed is a Belgian over/under shotgun that was produced from 1931 until 1986. The pre-World War II Superposed was offered in 12-gauge only with the exception of special orders. The 20-gauge version first became available in the 1949 catalog. Barrels ranged from 26.5" to 30" for the 12-gauge and 26.5" or 28" for the 20-gauge. The 1950s saw the introduction of various sub-models of the gun, such as Trap, Skeet & Hunting models. The 1960s saw the introduction of 28 gauge & 410 gauge models. Between 1970 and 1976, the cost of a Belgian-made Superposed more than doubled due to rising labor and manufacturing costs. This opened the door for Browning's less expensive alternative, the Citori, which was introduced in 1973, and produced at the Miroku, Japan, plant. Every Browning Superposed was produced and hand engraved in Belgium. Today, the Browning Superposed is commonly considered the best over/under shotgun design of the 20th century. SHIPPING - We offer free shipping anywhere within the continental US. All firearms must be sent to an FFL (or C&R if applicable) regardless of age or caliber. This includes antiques & muzzleloaders. Scarce - Smith & Wesson DA-45 M1917 "Post-War" Transition Commercial, 45 ACP, Revolver, 179669

Lot # 43

Produced sometime between 1946 - 1950, this Smith & Wesson DA-45 Model 1917 revolver is what collectors refer to as a "Post-War" Transition Commercial Model. At the concl...moreusion of WWII, Smith & Wesson purchased back approximately 10,000 U.S. Army M1917 frames from the U.S. Government. These revolver frames were all Martially Proofed with an Eagle Head over an "S" followed by the number 1,2,3,4,6,9,24,27 or 34. These commercial versions will have a 5.5" barrel, Magna-style checkered diamond walnut grips with S&W monograms, blued "commercial finish" and a S&W trademark on the side plate. Early commercial variations will have a standard (no prefix) serial number & lanyard ring, while the majority will have a post-WWII "S" prefix serial number, and may or may not sport a lanyard ring. - Ref. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Edition book. CONDITION: This revolver is in very nice condition with some light surface wear, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver is a significant piece of American military history, primarily known for its use during World War I. Developed to supplement the standard M1911 pistol, it was chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge and featured a unique moon clip system to accommodate the rimless round. The S&W M1917, along with the Colt New Service, was one of two revolvers adopted by the U.S. military as the M1917. The first U.S. deliveries of the S&W Model 1917 revolvers were made in October, 1917, and production continued until 1919. While many revolvers were produced, only about half made it to the front lines by the end of the war with many subsequently stored and later used in World War II. The Model 1917's success led to the development of other N-frame revolvers by Smith & Wesson, including the Model 29 .44 Magnum, which gained notoriety through the movie "Dirty Harry". 1950 Winchester Model 12 (28" FULL), 20 Ga., Pump Shotgun, 1293615

Lot # 46

According to the Winchester Arms Collectors Organization serial number database, this Model 12 Takedown 20-gauge slide-action shotgun was produced in 1950. SPECS: Polishe...mored blued finish, 28" FULL barrel with silver bead front sight, glossed walnut stock with fluted comb & grooved forearm, checkered black hard rubber buttpad with embossed "WINCHESTER", checkered cross-bolt safety on the trigger guard, serrated receiver top, silver shell lifter, 14" LOP and 2 3/4" chamber. CONDITION: This shotgun has been professionally refinished and is in beautiful condition, has a shiny/bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Winchester Model 1912 (also commonly known as the Model 12) is an internal hammer pump-action shotgun with an external tube magazine and popularly named the "Perfect Repeater". Initially chambered for 20 gauge only, the 12 and 16 gauge versions were first cataloged in 1913, and the 28 gauge version came out in 1934. Special production examples were produced by Winchester & Browning through specialized gun collector purchase programs, but the original "Perfect Repeater" shotgun was never mass produced after 1964. It was offered in several grades to include: Standard Field Gun, Tournament, Riot Gun, Trench Gun, Trap, Heavy Duck, Skeet, Pigeon and Super Pigeon. 1982 Belgium Browning, P35 Hi-Power Pistol (4.75"), 9mm Luger, Semi-Auto Pistol, 245PY06940

Lot # 49

According to the Browning Serial Number Database, this P35 Hi-Power pistol was produced in Belgium in 1982. SPECS: High luster polished blued finish, 4.75" stainless barr...moreel, two-piece checkered walnut grips, serrated spur hammer, serrated thumb safety/ slide stop, loaded chamber indicator, dovetailed adjustable rear sight, Patridge front sight, 13-round blued steel magazine and comes with the original manual. CONDITION: This pistol is in beautiful condition with very light wear on the front grip strap, has an excellent sharp/ clean bore and appears to be in good working order. HISTORY: The Browning Hi-Power Pistol was introduced in 1935, based on a design by John Browning, and completed by Dieudonn Saive at Fabrique Nationale (FN) of Herstal, Belgium. The pistol is often referred to as an HP or BHP, and the terms P-35 and HP-35 are also used based on the introduction of the pistol in 1935. During WWII, production was moved to Canada as the Germans occupied Belgium, and this is where the name was changed to "Hi-Power". The name change was kept even after production returned to Belgium after the war. The Hi-Power is one of the most widely used military pistols in history having been used by the armed forces of over 50 countries. Browning P35 Hi-Powers were first imported into the U.S. in 1954. After 82 years of continuous production, FN Herstal announced that the production of the Hi-Power would end, and it was discontinued in early 2018 by Browning Arms. However, in 2022, presumably to compete with the sudden surge in Hi-Power popularity, FN announced they would resume production of the Browning Hi-Power.
