1970 Porsche 914-6 GT •Formerly of the Kent Rawson Collection •Rare 914-6 GT Factory conversion upgrade •Meticulous restoration •All NOS panels & body components •Correct 2.7L twin plug flat 6 engine •Correct GT Bucket seats and tracks •Rare Fuch 15x8 and 15x9 wheels with correct finish •911 style 915 gearbox In 1970 Porsche in a joint effort with VW produced new mid-engine model labeled the 914. This car was offered in two variations, one with a flat 4 cylinder motor and one with a 911 flat six engine badged as the 914-6. Enter Porsche Racing; well Porsche built a handful of factory race car called 916 GT’s. These cars did very well; in fact privateers took a huge interest in these cars, so much so the Porsche offered a complete over the counter GT kit from Porsche that included all the engine, transmission, and body modification upgrades. This 914-6 was acquired in the mid 80’s by a real true Porsche enthusiast. Realizing the 914 GT’s were kit cars to start with, he then painstakingly accumulated all the factory NOS and OEM parts to recreate an authentic 914-6 GT. Together he and a former racer who raced 914’s back in the day, set out to build the ultimate, correct and improved 914-6 GT. With the bulgy fender flares, wide Fuchs wheels (rare15x8’s & 15x9’s) this car has a more aggressive stance and posture than a racing 911. Although it looks factory correct, there are significant improvements that lie in the details. Close inspection reveals that the modifications which include extra roll-bar and body reinforcing, suspension modifications and engine performance upgrades have made this car superior to the GT’s of the period. This flawless Porsche represents one of the finest 914-6 GT’s in existence and is street or track ready.
