40,259 Miles, Odometer Discrepancy, Red, Does Not Run. Project: 1972 Pontiac Lemans 2Dr Hardtop (Vinyl Top)    Information from the donor of car: Please inspect to make your own determination as to the factual nature of this information. This car would make a very solid GTO clone or donor car for a GTO project.  It is as-is and a certified mechanic or machinist should inspect any work prior to returning it to the road.   Most trim including stainless steel wheel wells, wipers, and interior comes with the car. One rocker panel trim and 400 emblem is missing. Much of the hardware is included some but not all in bags.    Engine: Original 400 ci Pontiac Big Block 2bolt mains with a set of 6X 1.77 1.66 valve heads.  Heads have been tanked and ready for gasket matching and porting/valve job. The engine was rebuilt over 30 years ago but never run.  It should be torn down and reassembled.  Fuel lines, Evap, and coolant lines have been removed and will need to be replaced.    New parts when assembled: Rhodes Hydraulic lifters. Edelbrock double roller timing chain. Crane Blazer Cam. Cam Bearings. New Main and Rod Bearings - Clevite 77. Meling High-Pressure oil pump. Warrior racing crank scraper. Hooker Competition Headers   Used classic Parts: GM Aero Sport mirrors. 140 mph speedometer. Original Cast Pistons and Rods. Nodular Iron Crank. 2/3 factory windage tray. Edelbrock Performer Intake. GM Quadra-jet Carburetor. GM AC compressor worked when it was parked in the 80s. Power Steering Pump. Alternator   Transmission: 400 Turbo Transmission performance rebuilt never run, new fluid years ago should drain refill. New never run TCI Street Dominator Stall Speed torque converter. The stock converter is also included with the car. Adjustable shift point vacuum canister. Autometer trans temp gauge. Transmission air cooler   Suspension/Brakes: Front disc brakes. Most of the front suspension components are new: tie rods A-arm bushings, ball joints, etc. exception idler arm tie rod collars.  An alignment shop should align, inspect. 10-Bolt Posi-traction 3:23 ratio rear axle out of a GT0. Front sway bar out of a GTO. Will need shocks. One of the emergency brake cables will need to be replaced. Brake lines will need to be replaced.   Body: This car was an Alabama car before being brought up to Ohio in the 80s and has not seen a winter - always garaged.  Doors Fenders and the overall car is very solid.  Some rust at the base of the vinyl top where water got under it.  Overall top of the car looks like rust…it’s not it’s just the adhesive glue. There is a little rust on one bottom quarter overall panel is solid.  Floorboards overall solid only a few very small holes passenger floor pan but easily patched and a replacement should not be necessary. The car was repainted in the 70s and in the 80s the hood and one fender were stripped to bare metal, metal prepped and painted with epoxy DP-40, and then red-oxide Kondar primer.    Interior: Greenish Blue factory tint windows and white interior with a bench seat.  Door panels, seats, headliner will need to be cleaned but should function. Triple gauge aftermarket cluster installed in-dash.
