In 1966 there was no doubt who was king in the world of cars and that honor was bestowed on the GTO. Flying high with styling that John DeLorean and his team incorporated into the GTO model coupled with cutting edge marketing at the time produced a car that nearly everyone wanted. This GTO was held in a private collection for 29 years. It is powered by its matching-numbers 389ci engine which was dealer-upgraded with Tri-Power using the Ram Air pan and had a Royal Bobcat performance kit installed. It is equipped with a Hurst 4-speed manual transmission and Safe-T-Track 3.55:1 differential. Detailed thanks to a body-on restoration performed on the original sheet metal this tri-color Montero Red GTO comes with a power-operated white convertible top and a deluxe black bucket seat interior. It also comes with four original Hurst wheels wrapped in new Firestone wide oval red line tires. It includes an AM/FM radio wood-grain steering wheel and center console. In addition the car was optioned with power brakes and power steering. This GTO was featured in Muscle Car Review magazine in 1988 and is well-documented with the original Protect-O-Plate showing it was sold new through Jo Drake Pontiac in Arnold PA.
