Item Details

SERIAL: 2168 DESIGN: Semiautomatic pistol with 7-round detachable magazine. 4” barrel. MATERIAL/FINISH/COMPOSITION: All metal components are blued steel. Two piece checkered wood grips. FEATURES: The left side of the frame is stamped "P. MOD. 37, KAL. 7.65." At the left of the slide is stamped "JHV 41." Proof marked on the left side of the slide and the left front of the trigger guard, just below the ejection port. The frame, slide and barrel have the serial number stamped on the left side. The safety is on the left rear of the frame. The pistol also has a grip safety. The front sight is a small dovetailed blade on the front of slide and the rear is a grooved notch in the rear of the slide. Wood grips have vertical grip serrations cut into the wood. Pistol comes with one magazine and a right-handed leather holster with an extra magazine pouch built in. The pistol also comes with the written description on plain parchment that the pistol was obtained from the battlefield in the European Theater in WWII. CONDITION: Excellent. 85-90% of the bluing remains on metal components. Modest muzzle wear. Crown shows a few very small nicks around its circumference. Bore is clean. Modest wear to the slide with most of it on the edges. There is some loss of bluing from holstering and small pit marks on the front 1/3 of each side. Frame shows modest wear with some loss of bluing on the bottom of the slide and trigger guard. Grip shows a couple pressure dents and an area of small scratches on the right grip panel. Magazine shows modest loss of bluing. Leather holster remains soft with numerous small scrapes and scratches. INVENTORY NO. / CATEGORY: 2043-001 / C&R ESTIMATE: $ 300 - $ 400
