Item Details
archive of Captain Joshua W. Crosby (1828-1910) of Orleans, MA., Acting Master aboard the USS Ohio, USS Ino and USS Dai Ching from 1862 to 1865; includes a 14"x 17" pastel-enhanced photographic portrait in a period gilt frame of Crosby in full dress uniform, his framed 1865 naval discharge certificate, his sword and scabbard, 14 war-time military documents (with two transfer orders signed by Admiral John Dahlgren), eight post-war documents pertaining to employment applications and Masonic honors
