Museum exhibited Egyptian necklace: a string of 8 blue faience Bes amulets beating their drums (1 1/4"H- 3/8"H) plus 1 central seated goddess (probably Isis or Sekhmet) SIZE: 16 1/4" DATE: 1500 - 1070 BCE CONDITION: Very good, no chips or repairs except 1 Bes amulet separated: loop broken off. EXHIBITED: Metropolitan Museum NY 1920-38 , Boston Fine Art 1945-60 167.45 Museum of Man CA 1968. All copies of museum paperwork included PROVENANCE: Goddard & Josephine Dubois Collection, acq. 1900-07. This necklace was strung together by Josephine Dubois as noted in Metropolitan Museum Bulletin.
