Item Details
Shipping Costs: UK-£21, US:£45, Europe:£40. Far East:£60. Award-winning comic writer and artist Bryan Talbot is credited as the man who created the first-ever British graphic novel, 'The Adventures of Luther Arkwright'. Throughout his career Bryan has pushed boundaries, challenged expectations, and won legions of admirers across the globe with works like 'One Bad Rat', 'Alice in Sunderland' and the COSTA Award-winning story 'Dotter of His Father's Eyes' (with Mary Talbot). He's also one of the patrons of the Lakes Festival, and so we are honoured that he has donated several of his rare original works for this auction. This picture is from the series of postcards specially commissioned this year by LICAF from seven leading illustrators, with the collective title, 'Wish You Were Here – Postcards from the Edge of Reality'. The cards celebrate the landscape of the Lakes and the power of comic art, each in its own unique way. Bryan's image pokes fun (and rifles) at the festival's own mascots. Ink on paper. The final printed postcard is also shown on this page.
