You are bidding on a Rare Remington-Smoot New Model No.3 .38 Nickel Revolver. One of the finest made small-belt/pocket-model revolvers of the post Civil War years, the Remington-Smoot revolvers were a direct competitor of the Colt line of revolvers. The Remington featured an unusual design in which the frame, barrel and ejector housing were all one piece, this making for an extremely strong and durable design that withstood hard use. This fine example, of which only approximately 6,000 were made, retains most of the original nickel finish as well as the original perfect condition Remington embossed black hard rubber checkered grips. The barrel is correctly marked, “E. REMINGTON AND SONS, ILION, N.Y. PAT. W. S. SMOOT OCT. 21, 1873.” Superior condition inside and out with only the trigger return spring weak and may only need a good cleaning. This revolver was manufactured from 1878-1888. NO FFL transfer or NICS background check required.
