Item Details
DWM Luger Model 1908 Navy in 9mm with a 6 inch barrel. This gun came home from france in 1919 with a doughboy and has been in the same family ever since. It is in the correct serial range for a 1908 Navy with the serial being 1341 with the letter “b” suffix. Bluing is original and above 90%. The straw on the gun is still very good. All numbers match with the exception of the magazine which is a correct magazine. Bore is Good. Grip are good and fairly crisp. The right grip is unit marked, the left is not and it is a touch oversized making us believe it is a vintage replacement. It came in a holster that was converted from shoulder to waist configuration which would be consistent for a Navy of the period. After the Brits’ bottled up the German Navy earlier in the war many 1908’s were reissued to infantry units. Included in the holster are the correct tool and cleaning rod. A letter of afadavit is available as to its history.
