1980 SHAY CONVERTIBLE

The Shay offers the novelty and appearance of the original Model A but with modern-day drivability. Built through a joint venture with Ford and Shay with a Ford warranty the Shay was sold through Ford dealerships. The Shay was built as a production vehicle and not assembled as a kit with only 5000 produced. The special feature about this particular vehicle is that it is an original California vehicle with a 2.3-liter engine boasting 88hp and an FOG 4-speed automatic transmission as opposed to the ones sold outside of California that have a manual transmission. The combination of ?70s chassis engine and braking technology maintains its vintage appeal with the 1920s ride height. This time-honored Shay offers seating for four two in front and two in a rumble seat and comes complete with a storage cargo box.
