.38 W.C.F., s/n 170844, revolver, brl length 7.5", single action, excellent condition, Fantastic example of an 1897 Manufactured Single Action Army. All screw heads retain the fire blued finish and on most it is very vivid. The case coloring on the frame and hammer retain 96% vivid bright colors showing only a fine amount of flash pitting left side of top strap and a small area at rear just below top strap on top of front corner of blast shield. All the frame and hammer edges are crisp and sharp. The bluing on the barrel is bright and crisp with well defined letters and numerals on the caliber and address markings which read as follows, single line top of barrel "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." with left side "38 W.C.F." there is a very small amount of thinning at the muzzle with an equally small amount of fine pinpoint pitting left side barrel 2" from muzzle with 2 small press marks right side of barrel just above ejector rod housing and a very tiny tool mark underside with wear present at the ejector rod rest position. The blued ejector rod housing shows minor thinning on front edge side portion. The trigger guard and backstrap are both blued with only a few very light handling marks and very minor thinning on bottom edge. The blued cylinder shows a light dragline with a small amount of flash pitting on 1 section panel with a few light surface scratches and some minor thinning on the edges. The bore shines mirror bright. Blade front and notch rear sights. The black checkered rampant horse grip panels show very little wear. The bore shines mirror bright. Numbers matching on frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Fantastic 1873 Single Action Army with an antique serial number in a smokeless frame
