serial #1515513, 30-06, 24" 5-38 dated Springfield Armory star gauged barrel with a bright excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain about 97% arsenal dark gray-green parkerizng with the ''NS'' marked bolt and extractor remaining mostly bright. The 1903A1 stock rates about excellent showing the expected sparsely scattered very light handling marks. Stock has an older oil finish, is properly de-void of any inspectors markings on the left side and has crisp circled "P" firing proof. The front hand guard has been neatly inletted for a square steel target block and its top surface milled to accommodate scope clearance, the finish on the milled area matches precisely that of the balance of the hand guard, and indeed the rest of the stock, clearly done during the period of use. The rifle has been drilled and tapped for steel target blocks, USMC-style, with the appropriate ''E''-marked Unertl front scope base, the rear is ''L''-marked, and they are properly spaced 7.2'' on center. The drilling and tapping was done prior to the arsenal re-parkerizing as the interior of the holes are now parkerized; the underside of the receiver to the rear of the recoil lug is stamped ''J/101'' . The rifle conforms to model 1938 National Match configurations and indeed has the heavily checkered National Match buttplate. The check of Springfield Research Service does not show this serial number and there is certainly no definitive way to prove United States Marine Corps use, this rifle certainly fits the bill, was definitely professionally done and fits the proper configuration. GUIDELINES FOR FIREARM PURCHASES • All Federal, State and Local firearms laws will be observed. FFL holders may take possession of any firearm on day of sale when they present a signed copy of their Federal Firearms License. New Hampshire residents over the age of 21 may take possession of any firearm on day of sale providing the proper paperwork is filled out and the transfer has been approved either through the NH State Police or the FBI NICS System. While most NICS and State approvals are immediate, approvals could take up to 3 days. Most non-residents may take possession of long guns on day of sale after completing the proper forms and successfully completing a NICS check; modern handguns will need to be shipped to an FFL holder in the buyer's home state. Buyer is responsible for any and all shipping charges and all items must be paid for on day of sale. Bidders should be familiar with their local and state laws as Amoskeag Auction Co., Inc. will not be responsible for any parties purchasing items which may not be possessed in, or shipped, to their state of residence.
