Item Details
SN 72703, manufactured in 1881, top of the barrel ahead of the sight is marked with the two line address/King's improvement patent dates and a 38 W.C.F at the breech, the upper tang is marked "Model 1873" , lower tang is marked with the serial number, fitted with a balde front sight and a folding ladder graduated rear sight, saddle ring and staple mounted on the left side of the receiver, smooth walnut oil finished stock and forearm, carbine buttplate with a cleaning rod compartment, smooth working action, dull appearing bore, heavy finish fading, small cleaned rust pitting spots, marks and scuffs on the barrel and receiver, refinished forearm, crack in the wrist f the stock, overall fair condition. All items are sold subject to Federal and State Regulations. Any lot number ending with an “R” or “CR” must be registered. If you purchase a lot with 'CR', and you have a Curio and Relics license, you do not need to register this lot. Gun registration is handled by Conestoga Auction Company. Modern handgun purchasers must be Pennsylvania residents at least 21 years of age and must have photo ID (driver’s license). Out of state residents must have an FFL or a licensed dealer in their state to receive UPS shipment on handguns. Modern rifle and shotgun purchasers must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to purchase firearms.
There is a $2.00 State Fee for PICS (PA Instant Check System) approval for each individual purchasing a handgun and/or longarm. There is also a $3.00 Pa. State Computer Processing Fee for each registered longarm or handgun that is purchased, unless the buyer has an "FFL". There will also be a $5.00 charge for a mandatory trigger lock required for each modern handgun purchased by non- FFL holders. These charges will be passed on to the purchaser in addition to the purchase price and the buyer's premium. All purchasers must register for a buyer's number and provide satisfactory identification.
A Buyer's Premium is added to each item sold at the Auction. 6% Sales Tax will be charged except to persons with a current Dealer's Sales Tax Exemption on file with the Auction. On-line buyers will be charged an additional on-line platform fee. Upon fall of the hammer or said sold, the title and responsibility for each item or lot passes to the purchaser. In case of a disputed bid, the Auctioneer, will determine the successful bidder or re-offer and resell the article in dispute. The Auctioneer reserves the right to hold merchandise purchased by personal check until the check has cleared the bank, if the Auctioneer deems such action necessary to protect his interest.
