This Italian shotgun is world renown as one of the most unusual, well built fine shotguns in the world; to date there has been approx. 9,000 ever made with around 400 gunsmithing hours going in the build of a single gun; Cosmi started production in the 1930s and still makes shotguns today with approx. 75 guns produced each year all direct sale built for the customers specs; this is the worlds only semi auto shotgun that breaks down like a classic double; Cosmis are known for their unique action that hold up to 8 shells in stock; these guns are superior in craftsmanship in every way with mechanics, engraving, and wood; some notable owners of Cosmi shotguns include Leonid Brezhnev and Donna Rachele (Mussolinis wife); this Cosmi has 26.5 inch barrel; VR; choked improved cylinder; beautiful highly figured stock with an adjustable comb; LOP is 13.75 to end of wood, butt plate has been removed; full coverage hand engraved receiver with fine scroll work that must be seen in person to really appreciate; overall condition is excellent with light handling marks; there is a small repaired crack at pistol grip; SN#0770; today Cosmi shotguns start at a base model non-engraved price of $15,000 and go up to high end engraved models over $40,000; this is a very rare opportunity to purchase one of these high end scarce guns on the secondary market
