Item Details
Mauser Model 1871 single shot bolt action rifle, approximately 7 mm caliber, Serial #643. The rifle is in good overall condition with a 22 ½” barrel with a blade front and military ladder style rear sights. The metal surfaces retain a significant amount of their muted blue finish with the remainder going to grey patina. The rifle is marked, “St. Denis” at the breech for the French arsenal of the same name. Additionally, the right side of the action is marked 1876 and 1877. A number of these rifles were purchased for use in Uruguay by a Greek named Dovitis. The smooth wood stock is in good condition with the ram rod and sling swivels retained. The bore is fair, the action functions and the markings are sharp. Est.: $300-$600. (Antique).
