Item Details
The Violin was made after 1920, certainly before most of us were alive. It has a genuine fake Stradivarius label inside that also reads “Made in Czechoslovakia” (Before 1920 this country was known as Bohemia in the wider world). Addition of Stradivarius labels was commonplace in the early 20th Century. – Violin has been stored away, and has its pegs, Fingerboard, Bridge (detatched), Chin rest, and (whatever they call the tail-piece that holds the strings at the bottom). It will need to see a good luthier if you want to play it. Body is 11 3/4” from purfing to purfing. – The Bow is in good condition with what appears to be strong hairs (no breakage). It is made of wood with a metal end at the bottom and what appears to be a black textured plastic grip – no maker's name is visible on the bow. – The Case: is appx 26” L 8 1/2” Wide at the bottom, and domed to appx 5” at its deepest – Leather over wood with slightly rusted metal findings.
