Fine to Very Good condition - rifle - 36-5/8" rnd barrel - full length walnut stock secured with 3 barrel bands and a nose cap - stock equipped with cleaning rod, sling swivels, adjustable leather sling, and a "US" marked buttplate - left side of stock marked between two lock bolts with cartouche of Henry S. Hill, a civilian sub-inspector whom worked in the machine shop at Springfield Armory during the Civil War - stock remains in Excellent sound condition with few light handling bruises to wood - barrel, barrel bands, trigger guard, and buttplate remain in bright grey patina - lock plate and receiver retain muted case in protected areas balance to soft grey patina freckled with age spots - Markings: crisp & legible- standard civil war lock plate markings with "1864" date at rear, breech block marked "1866/American Eagle head", "L" & "A" marked on left side of barrel just below receiver block - Sights: front sight is a blade in block integral with barrel/rear sight is a flip up leaf sight graduated from 3 to 7 - France-Prussian War Era - Trapdoor designed by Erskine S. Allin - total of 25,000 altered using Model 1863 percussion muskets - beveled lock plate - frosty bore with rough areas concentrated at mid-bore, however bore retains visible rifling - mechanics appear to be in good working order - Yr. Mfg.: 1864 - SN: NSN - Antq - 77251

1. BUYERS PREMIUM -On-line bidders using Proxibid.com will pay 15%. Sales tax will be collected on items picked up live or shipped to Kansas residents. There is no sales tax on absentee bid purchases shipped out of state.
2. PAYMENT - Online bidders will be charged immediately with the credit card on file with the Online provider you registered with if you have not made prior arrangements to pay by check or cash. All C&R handguns shipped to California must be shipped to an FFL dealer. These are average estimates; oversize, special packing or high value, (over $500.) etc., will increase shipping costs.
