Item Details
Originally built as a 12 HP model in 1898, it received a rating of 36 HP in 1910. Within a year the 36 was re-rated and revitalized so as to gain a 40 HP rating. During the Winnipeg Trials Case stated these engines would develop 63.35 brake horsepower using 140 PSI of steam. Along with the new rating the drive components were "beefed up"
This early 40 HP steam engine features contractor bunkers, steam water pump, good gearing, the early smoke box door and correct clutch control. The engine has not been fired in several years but has been stored under a roof. Older restoration but ready for a new life! Will make a nice engine for any collector who is looking for a full sized engine but nothing big.
