Overview of History of Howard Behrens

Item Details

Howard Behrens (1933 – 2014) is an iconic American artist. Often called the “Father of American Palette Knife Artists”, Behrens was one of America’s most-collected artists for over 25 years. Before starting his fulltime career as a fine artist, he earned a master’s degree in Fine Art and he was the Chief Artist at the U.S. Government Printing Office in Washington, DC. His works have been featured on at least six cruise lines and in galleries worldwide. They have also been exhibited in at least ten museums. As an official artist for the Winter Olympics 2002, alongside Simon Bull and Thomas Kinkade, Behrens’ painting, “In Motion” was featured at the Winter Games. His works were also showcased in a One Man Show - “A Tribute to Monet” at the French Embassy in Washington, DC in 2001. Behrens’ works of art have touched the hearts and souls of countless collectors and numerous celebrities. On April 14, 2014, following his long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, the world lost this remarkable artist. He is greatly missed, and his legacy lives on through his art. We at Poinsett Auction are honored to be entrusted to help spread his masterful artwork to collectors worldwide through our upcoming Howard Behrens Estate Art Online Auction.
