Clemen & Jung entered into the Solingen commercial register on March 15, 1876. The partnership made: swords, sabres and bayonets in 1862-1880. Business was very successful and expended into Britain with a representative: Nathaniel Mills & Co. of Birmingham (1865-1879). Though used earlier, the crowned Z on a shield trademark was registered in 1898. In 1900, the DRAB listed the owner as Emil Berger until 1939, while located on Florastrasse 54. During the First World War, Clemen & Jung made combat/fighting knives and bayonets.
