Condition: very good condition,
double action. The underside of the barrel is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and the underside of the grip frame is marked "U.S./ARMY/Model/1917/No/59/359" with a lanyard swivel present. The top of the barrel is marked with the standard two line address/patent and the left side is marked "S.&W. D.A. 45". The barrel is pinned, serial numbered to the revolver with an eagle head proof. The cylinder is also serialed to the revolver with an eagle head proof and the flaming bomb proof is located on the left side of the frame at the top rear corner. The smooth walnut grip panels show only a few light handling marks while the case colored trigger and hammer retain a majority of the coloring showing some light freckling. The blued metal finish shows some thinning to the left side of the muzzle where there are some light scratches present as well and some light freckling is present in a few areas most noticeable on the right side where one of the areas shows old very light surface rust in an area approximately 0.212" x 0.219" with some wear on the right side barrel near muzzle as well., Both front and back straps also show light scattered freckling. Zettlemoyer Auction Co. is not a retail store.
