Sarah McIntyre and Philip Reeve are, respectively, award-winning children's artist and writer in their own right, with a string of accolades including Smarties, Blue Peter, Leeds and Sheffield Children's book awards. As a partnership they create fun, beautifully illustrated adventure stories such as 'Oliver and the Seawigs', 'Cakes in Space' and most recently 'Pugs of the Frozen North'. Those pugs are highly invasive, and they get heavily involved in this lovely picture. It is from the series of postcards specially commissioned this year by LICAF from seven leading illustrators, with the collective title, 'Wish You Were Here – Postcards from the Edge of Reality'. The cards celebrate the landscape of the Lakes and the power of comic art, each in its own unique way. This image was created digitally, and the item for auction is the sole print in existence.
