Item Details

A rare British proofed Argentinian Ballester Molina 1911 45 ACP Semi Automatic Pistol in very good condition. British Proofed "B" Prefix Argentine Hafdasa Ballester-Molina Semi-Automatic Pistol Produced in Argentina, the Ballester-Molina was the successor to the Model 1927 Pistol, a licensed copy of the American Colt 1911. The "B" prefix of the serial number and the British proofs are associated with a series of pistols produced expressly for sale to the British government during the Second World War, and was used as sidearms by the British 8th Army, as well as a number reportedly shunted to the Special Operations Executive, which was in need of non-British ordnance to equip their agents.
