ATTENTION COLLECTORS OF HISTORICAL HENRY RIFLES: Outstanding Deluxe, silver washed, engraved and monogrammed Henry Rifle, SN 2386, produced during the civil war era in 1862. Engraved in the style of L.D. Nimschke by a currently unknown master engraver, in fine condition with all marked and numbered parts properly identified. There may be a possible attribution to both Louis D. Nimschke as the engraver and a Winchester family member, Caleb Thomas Winchester as the recipient of this fine, one of a kind Deluxe Henry Rifle. This Rifle, SN 2386, is accompanied by outstanding provenance and possibilities compiled by noted author, researcher and historian R. L. Wilson. A copy of Mr. Wilson's 23 page, extensive research document will be made available to interested parties upon request-prior to the auction, and will accompany this fine Henry Rifle. Mr. Wilson was so impressed by this Henry that he stated it would be featured in his upcoming third edition of Winchester Engraving. This Rifle, .44 cal., 24" octagon barrel, rich aged patina on receiver with light silver finish visible, and smooth aged brown patina on barrel. The wood to metal fit is excellent. All original markings are clear and sharp. The action is flawless and the bore is very fine. This unique Henry is fine enough for anyone's collection!!
