Indian / Persian 19th C Bazu-Band Arm Guard Armor Gold & Silver Inlays

A finely crafted 19th-century Bazu-Band Arm Guard, originating from India or Persia, this piece showcases intricate gold and silver inlays, a testament to the artistry of Islamic and South Asian armorers. The B�zuband (بازوبند) was a traditional form of lower arm protection, worn across the Islamic world, including northern India and the Deccan.

Constructed from forged steel, the guard extends from the wrist to the elbow, with a design that traditionally included a protective mitten (now lost to time). The interior was once lined with fabric padding, which added comfort and usability for the wearer. The elaborate golden accents are still prominent and display beautifully on the forged steel.This piece exemplifies the sophisticated craftsmanship and martial traditions of Persian and Indian warriors.
